Blasi

History

2015 was our first vintage of Blasi Zinfandel. Gary Blasi has been farming these old vines for over forty years on a handshake agreement with owner Jim Metcalfe. This is the first time that wine from this hidden treasure of a vineyard has been bottled separately with Gary’s name on the label.

Location

Chalk Hill AVA, just outside Windsor city limits

Grape Varieties

Zinfandel, 3 acres, and a small amount of petite sirah, peloursin, and other varieties scattered throughout.

Soils

Arbuckle deep gravelly clay loam

Training & Yields

Head trained, (no trellis) spur pruned. Three tons per acre.
