1985 Paso Robles Zinfandel

This is the eleventh vintage we have made from the Dusi Ranch in San Luis Obispo County. The Zinfandel vines, planted some seventy years ago, are among the oldest in the area. In 1985 the blocks were harvested over a four-week period, and at different degrees of maturity. Those harvested earlier provide racy young fruit, and the last picked contribute a full, rich character. The wine needs six months to soften further, and will be at its best over the next five years.
