“Quality US wine-producing areas like Sonoma are frequently overshadowed by Napa.”

#1. Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello, Santa Cruz Mountains
“Extraordinarily well-liked – and long-lived – wine. This Bay Area beauty is #8 on the overall US list and 89 on the worldwide list. It has an impressive aggregated critic score of 94 and an average price of $209, making it top of the US charts outside of Napa.”

#7. Ridge Vineyards Geyserville, Alexander Valley
Ridge’s other great vineyard produces the most popular Zinfandel in the world, according to our users. Usually made with a blend of Carignan and Petite Sirah (and occasionally a touch of Mourvèdre and even Alicante Bouschet), this is another wonderfully consistent wine, with an aggregate score of 91 and an average price of $43.”
