In a Vinous feature titled “2020 – In The Rear View Mirror” by Neal Martin, our 1991 Monte Bello was named as one of Martin’s selections for “memorable bottles of 2020.”

Martin is a wine critic and author based in the UK who regularly reviews wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy, South Africa, and New Zealand for Vinous. In 2012, Martin authored the award-winning book, Pomerol, widely acknowledged to be the definitive book on one of Bordeaux’s least known appellations.

On his feature of “Memorable Bottles of 2020,” which including 39 wines in total, ordered by vintage, Martin wrote: “These bottles also lit up my year, from English sparkling wonders to Bandol, Barolo, and Holy Grail Burgundy.”
