Wine Spectator’s recent review of standout red wines from Northern California features our newly-released 2018 Boatman Zinfandel and 2019 East Bench Zinfandel.
“Ridge made its first Zinfandel-based wine in 1966 from vines planted in Alexander Valley in the 19th century. Today, they offer their appealingly rustic Boatman Zinfandel, made from a hillside vineyard at the edge of the valley. Ridge makes its East Bench Zinfandel from a vineyard in eastern Dry Creek Valley, and the wine is a terrific value with cherry, grilled fennel and briar notes.” – Aaron Romano, Wine Spectator

2018 Boatman Zinfandel
Tightly focused and appealingly rustic. Black cherry, toasty dill and licorice flavors build tension toward medium-grained tannins. Best from 2022 through 2030. 91 points.
2019 East Bench Zinfandel
A gutsy Zin. Appealingly rustic, with accents of briar patch, cherry and grilled fennel that build tension toward medium-grained tannins. Best from 2022 through 2030. 90 points.
