We’re pleased to see two zinfandels from different viticultural areas in a recent edition of Wine Spectator‘s Insider Weekly. Geyserville, from Alexander Valley, is an old-vine blend featuring organically grown zinfandel, carignane, petite sirah, and mataro. Our Paso Robles wine is made from vines that were planted at the Dusi Ranch in the early 1920s. Pair the warm climate with the unique soil profile and you get concentrated, exotic aromas from this wine.
“Deeply structured and bright with acidity, this combines power with grace. Black cherry and dark plum flavors take on licorice, green peppercorn and Asian five-spice accents as this builds toward broad-shouldered tannins.” —T.F.
“Brambly and dynamic, with cherry and raspberry flavors highlighted by briar patch, pepper and roasted anise notes. Finishes with zesty tannins.” —T.F.
Both the Geyserville and Paso Robles wines are released each spring as part of our Z List membership. Designed specifically for the zinfandel lover, the Z List provides you an amazing lineup of single-vineyard zinfandels sourced from historic vineyards and shipped direct to you twice a year.
