In 1962, Ridge Vineyards made its first Monte Bello, and two years later its first zinfandel. Since that time, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for those rare and exceptional vineyards where climate, soil, and variety are ideally matched.

Ridge Vineyards is one of the largest farmers of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.

Our Storied History

The Monte Bello Vineyard produced its first wine in 1885, roughly the same year the Geyserville vineyard was planted--four Stanford scientists rebonded the winery in 1962, beginning RIDGE's modern history.
