2013 Estate Cabernet, 95 Points from the International Wine Report

International Wine Report

We’re enthused to find that The International Wine Report has given the 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon a score of 95 points.

“The 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolutely sensational effort in this vintage, and already showing incredibly well. This is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, from select parcels on the Monte Bello property. The wine opens with notes of ripe black fruits, fresh spring florals, spices, cherry pipe tobacco, graphite, minerals and hints of sweet toasted oak, all coming together to form the seductive aromas. This is most impressive for its remarkable full, rich texture which is plush, layered and impeccably balanced with gorgeous underlying acidity. There is wonderful concentration and focus combined with simply delicious flavors, which resonate seamlessly through the opulent finish. This is without a doubt one of, if not the best, Estate Cabernet I have ever tasted from Ridge, and it will most certainly continue to age gracefully over the next decade and beyond. An outstanding job from Paul Draper and winemaker Eric Baugher on this extraordinary wine.” (Best 2017-2030) – October, 2016 (JD) – 95 Points
