Ridge awarded 2023 Sonoma County ‘Stars of the Industry’ Award

The best and brightest in Sonoma County’s tourism and hospitality industry gathered on May 9th to celebrate the 2023 Sonoma County Tourism Stars of the Industry Awards. Eleven awards were presented to businesses and individuals that have excelled in or positively affected the Sonoma County tourism and hospitality industry.

Ryan Johnson, Ridge Vineyards’ Director of Marketing, was in attendance to accept the award. As with the previous year’s awards, Sonoma County Tourism solicited the local hospitality industry to submit nominations. A committee then pared the nominations down to three finalists in each category before inviting the industry to vote for the winners. We want to thank Sonoma County Tourism and our fellow nominees – Single Thread and Psychic Pizza – for promoting sustainable practices in our community.

Our Journey to Carbon Neutral

RIDGE strives to be a thought leader for climate action in the wine industry. Though each individual can make an impact, we acknowledge that it takes a combined effort to make an even larger impact. Through meaningful partnerships and proper procedure, we surround ourselves with the best tools and resources to make carbon neutrality a priority.

• Ridge Vineyards is the largest grower of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA – 100% of our Estate Vineyards are Certified Organic.
• We joined International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) in August 2021 and were upgraded to Silver Level Membership in November 2022. Our membership is a commitment to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
• Our Lytton Springs winery is built using straw bales, earthen plaster, and recycled lumber and is powered by clean energy. Its unique construction utilizes as many environmentally friendly techniques as possible.
