2016 Hooker Creek Zinfandel

Tasting Notes

  • Aroma: Cherry, pipe tobacco, blackberry, cedar, flower petals.
  • Flavor: Juicy dark red fruit, chewy dried cherry, white pepper.
  • Additional Notes: Great mouthfeel, complexity and lingering finish.
  • Wine Evolution: Can be enjoyed now, but has potential for aging.

Production Overview

Harvested from August 30 to September 5, with an average brix of 25.1. Grapes destemmed, crushed, pumped over a floating cap twice daily, pressed at 10 days. Ten months in barrel, 100% air-dried american oak barrels (10% new, 40% one and two years old, 50% three, four and five years old).
